WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR

It is with great joy and pride that I extend a warm welcome to all participants, conductors, adjudicators, partners, and music lovers to the 4th Soegijapranata International Choir Competition (SICC), held in Semarang, November 12-15, 2026.

SICC is more than a competition. It is a celebration of harmony, voices, cultures, and shared humanity. Through choral music, we encounter a universal language that transcends borders, beliefs, and backgrounds, inviting us to listen deeply, to collaborate sincerely, and to honor diversity as a source of beauty and strength. In this spirit, SICC embodies the values that Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU) upholds: human dignity, inclusivity, excellence, and the pursuit of joyful futures.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Gratia Choir SCU as the organizer of the 4th SICC. With dedication and artistic integrity, Gratia Choir SCU continues to nurture choral music as a space for formation, creativity, and international friendship. I am confident that this event will provide a professionally enriching, artistically inspiring, and culturally meaningful experience for all involved.

Semarang, a city shaped by history, openness, and cultural encounters, offers a fitting setting for this international gathering. May your time here be filled not only with outstanding musical performances, but also with moments of connection, reflection, and mutual learning.

To all participating choirs: may this competition be an opportunity to present your very best, to grow through encounter, and to be inspired by one another. May every note sung during the 4th SICC contribute to peace, solidarity, and hope in our shared world.

Welcome to Semarang. Welcome to the 4th SICC.
